Stopped here for an açai bowl. They had 3 different prices across the site for açai bowls. When I saw the manager I mentioned it to him and he didn’t seem to care. When I said it again he said they ‘making no money on them anyway’. Very poor overall after being one of the best places before. Plenty of other places are happy to have my business so I’ll go there in future.
Ordered the ham and cheese toastie, was warm on the outside and cold on the inside, which was quite unpleasant to say the least. We ordered an iced vanilla late which tasted as if there was zero coffee in it and was a grey colour. Otherwise lovely setup but poor service.

Plenty of free parking. On my first visit, we had a cuppa and cake in the original thatched cottage part at the front of the complex, but when we returned for breakfast, we found it was served upstairs at the back of the complex, still easily accessible with a lift for those with limited mobility
The process of ordering was not very clear. We were unsure if we were to take a seat and wait for a server or to order at the counter. The latter was the case, and so, I took photos of the menu behind the counter for the others to look over before going back up to the counter to order and pay for it.It just seemed a little bit Chain like, and impersonal.. The service in general was very good, but there just seemed something disjointed about it. There were several people who were obviously regulars, and they knew the system, had a seamless experience, but we just found, as new customers there was little information for us to know what their setup was. Even a member of staff to come and present us with menu’s and ask us to order and pay at the counter when we were ready, would have been beneficial.
The breakfast was very good, and not as overpriced as I may have thought, a. But yes good food, not too badly priced, and I would stop here again for sure!
I’ll admit that I have often passed Jilly & Joe’s, assuming as it was in Dove hill, it would be somewhat of a tourist trap, and therefore overpriced. However, I am pleased to report that I was wrong. The prices in the cafe were not too bad at all.
